Living and Dying: Let’s Talk in Gisborne

Living and Dying: Let’s Talk in Gisborne

Geelong Cemeteries Trust is proud to present our second Living and Dying: Let’s Talk event in Gisborne on Thursday, October 24th, 2019.

The event will be held at the Gisborne Golf Club, 25 Daly Street, Gisborne.

Living and Dying: Let’s Talk will encourage the local community to openly discuss their death wishes. The event will spread awareness of locally available end of life health care and support services, in a relaxed environment.

The Gisborne Living and Dying: Let’s Talk will help to educate the community about planning for the end of life. This will ultimately benefit individuals and their loved ones.

Speed talking presentation topics will cover end of life planning, legal plans for death (i.e. wills and power of attorney set up), Death Doulas, funerals, natural burials, cemetery and memorial options, locally available support for dealing with grief and suicide, Hospice, Palliative Care, Aged Care, and Voluntary Assisted Dying.

There are often many decisions to make regarding dealing with death, dying and grief. This event provides attendees with the opportunity to learn and be supported.

With a plan in place, family members can take the time after a loved one’s death to remember fond times, rather than worrying about planning and organising their funeral.
