Our themed tours are a sensational way of discovering Geelong’s historic characters and our monumental Geelong Eastern Cemetery at the same time. The cemetery is in its 175th year of operation since the first burial of Hugh Niven in 1839 and holds a host of amazing stories waiting to be discovered.
School Or Community Group Tours
The cemetery can be a very curious subject to children and adults and can often be depicted as a scary place on electronic media, however this could not be more further from the truth. Cemeteries hold amazing stories of souls of our past and can provide a great insight into the history of the town that hosts it.
History Alive Themed Cemetery Tour
The health and safety of the local community is of extreme importance to us, which is why all upcoming History Alive Tours have been postponed until October 2020.
Community members who have already paid for their upcoming tours will be able to experience History Alive in October 2020. Self-guided tours can be conducted anytime at our Geelong Eastern Cemetery using the QR codes available.
